The guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told Launch that the "concept" behind the record [SYOTOS] was to stretch Korn's sound as far as possible. "Definitely," he said. "It's taking Korn into another dimension for the listener, I think, that takes you to another world. I think it's really emotional, as far as it's not so anger-based. You know, I think it's a more well-rounded emotional journey it kinda takes you on, the listener."
